Purdue University has a very nice tropical site. A vast climatological
database that goes back to 1886 has the tracks and storm data for every
tropical storm/hurricane that ever developed. This, combined with current
tropical satellite imagery and tracking information make this an excellent
source of information.
- National Hurricane Center The
National Hurricane Center, or "Tropical Prediction Center" as it is now called,
is a great resource for data on both current and past storms.

- Joint Typhoon
Warning Center (Guam) - The Join Typhoon Warning Center out of Guam has some good
satellite pictures and the latest advisories on systems in the western Pacific.

of Hawaii Good site with worldwide tropical coverage. The only spot for SE Pacific
storms.
- Naval Research Lab,
Monterrey, CA Here's the stop for The Hottest tropical satellite imagery
around. Great tropical strips from GOES-8, Meteosat, and GMS-5. Images are large and
clear. There are even large MPEG movies! A must see!

- Though Penn State's site is mostly devoted to weather across the northeast U.S., it does
have a good offshore observations page.
- Offshore
Observations Pick a region or just do a radial search for observations or ship reports
for an area.
