We just returned from the 2007 Cozumel Trip and everyone had a great time. Thanks to those travelers who eMailed me about the fun they had on the trip.
Plans for the Cozumel 2008 trip are already underway. I plan to have the contract signed between Thanksgiving and Christmas of 2007 for the Cozumel 2008 trip. This means I will have the exact cost and dates before January 1, 2008. Hope you join us on the 2008 Cozumel Trip. Because of the way we are doing this trip now, I expect the 2008 trip to sell-out about 5 or 6 weeks before the trip. Watch for my eMails at the end of this year to be sure you can make plans to join us on next year's trip.

Books & Tables:
You can ask me to order your PADI Open Water Diver books and tables
in advance and pick them up from me in advance or that night.
I would suggest you get the books and
tables and begin reading now and complete the Knowledge Reviews.
The amount you will pay is less than the store
retail but you must order these items at least 3 days in advance of the class. I would ask that students only mention that they
have already purchased the materials in advance if asked at the Dive Center by
employees or other students and not mention that you purchased the book for this
discounted price from me. I will take your check or cash, no credit cards
when you pick up your book. EMail me if you want me to order a book for
you.
Or you may purchase your books and tables from any PADI Dive Center at retail price plus tax.
Check List of things you will need:
* Very few PADI instructors ever achieve MASTER INSTRUCTOR status. This instructor level indicates that the instructor is certified to teach and has taught the required quantities of a complete range of classes from beginner to instructor and specialty levels. Only a hand-full of Master Instructors are in the entire Houston regional area.
PADI Open Water Diver Class
Now is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course from a PADI Master Instructor, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with PADI, the dive company that sets the standards in the global diving community.
Why PADI
Open Water? As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and
respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy
independent of a professional. You will be certified through a PADI Five
Star Store by a Master Scuba Instructor!
If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba
Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with Bill Jones to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water
program.
What do I need to start? Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. You must be older than the age of 14 to begin the PADI Open Water Diver program.
For those of you who are not above the age of 14 and would like to participate in the PADI Open Water Diver Program, then the PADI Jr Open Water Diver program is available to you. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available. A PADI Jr Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 11 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 40 feet. What will I do? Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing the pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water dives at Blue Lagoon in Huntsville.
How long will it take? PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. But in general, see the schedule above.
What will I need?
A passport-style ID photo, text book, tables, logbook, mask, snorkel, fins, weights, weight belt, tank, bcd, wetsuit, and regulator, but Bill Jones will make this very easy for you.Where can I go from here? Continue the adventure with PADI’s "Adventures in Diving" program (Advanced Open Water Diver), your next step in exploring the underwater world. Ask Bill Jones for more information on the PADI Adventures In Diving program.
