GARBAGE AND RECYCLING
PICKUP
The Memorial Thicket Homeowners Association has contracted BFI Waste Systems for garbage and trash pickup and recycling within our subdivision. To ensure prompt and efficient garbage and recycling collection, please familiarize yourself with their collection guidelines below:
SOLID WASTE COLLECTION
Garbage P/U Each Tuesday and Friday from Garage Area Limited to 6 containers or bags (total including grass) Max. Weight = 35lbs /bag. Must be out and available by 7am. Excess waste should be placed at the curb for collection. (Max. 10 bags)
Grass Clippings P/U Each Tuesday and Friday from Garage Area Limited to 6 containers or bags (total including garbage) Max. Weigh = 35 lbs. /bag. Must be out and available by 7am. Excess waste should be placed at the curb for collection. (Max. 10 bags)
Tree Limbs/Bulky Waste P/U Each Friday from the Curb Limbs must be cut into 4-foot lengths and tied in bundles. Max. Weight = 50 lbs. Bulky Waste includes stoves, refrigerators, hot water heaters, moving boxes, etc. BFI will NOT collect tires, hazardous waste, wet paint, motor oil, tree trunks, car parts, and concrete or construction debris.
RECYLING COLLECTION Your recycling day is Tuesday.
Paper Products Newspapers and Magazines No Phone Books
Plastics Clear and cloudy plastic soft drink bottles and milk jugs. No plastic wraps or any other type of plastic bottles
Cans Aluminum and tin cans only. No foil, pie tins, siding, aerosol cans of any type, or scrap metal
Glass Sorry, BFI is unable to accept glass at this time.
The following holidays will be observed: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on a collection day, then garbage will be collected on the next regularly scheduled pickup day. If you have any questions, please call BFI's customer service department at 713-937-9955 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
