ABOUT MEMORIAL THICKET
Memorial Thicket is a small subdivision located on Memorial Drive in the energy corridor approximately seventeen miles west of downtown Houston.
Created by the Landar Corporation in 1979, Memorial Thicket is currently made up of 156 single family residences which range from 2400 to 6800 square feet. Median home size is 3600 square feet.
According to year 2000 preliminary appraisals provided by Harris County Appraisal District ( see links) ) market value of the homes in Memorial Thicket ranged from $240,000 to $640,000 with a median value of $330,000. During the 1999 calendar year, ten homes sold with sales prices ranging from $255,000 to $550,000.
Of the 156 homes in Memorial Thicket, 131 are located in the Houston Independent School District. The remaining 25 homes at the southern end of the subdivision fall within the Katy Independent School District.
