Texas executes 400th inmate.

On August 22, 2007 Texas executed the 400th inmate since the death penalty was reinstated. In one of the articles that was published online the reporter made a statement that convicted killer Johnny Ray Conner specifically asked one of his victims' relatives to look at him, but she didn't and remained turned to the side with her hands clasped in prayer.

It is my hope that the unnamed victims' relative receives closure from what she witnessed. It has been over nine years since I witnessed the execution of Karla Faye Tucker for the murder of my sister. I have yet to receive closure. Whether or not Conner was innocent or guilty is not what matters now. What matters is that we must stop all forms of violence. Otherwise, our actions will be our own destruction.
