HATS  and area Rides

CLUB / TANDEM CALENDAR

SWTR 2007

The Southwest Tandem Rally will be held in La Grange, TX on April 27-29, 2007.

The members of the Houston Area Tandem Society (HATS) are pleased to invite you to charming La Grange, Texas for the 2007 Southwest Tandem Rally!

Renew old friendships and make new ones as you join fellow tandem enthusiasts April 27-29 for three exhilarating days of cycling in some of Texas’ most scenic countryside.  La Grange is located roughly halfway between Houston and Austin, in an area of rolling hills.  One of the older towns in the state, the streets of La Grange were laid out in 1837, the year after Texas gained its independence from Mexico.  The German, Czech, and Moravian influence of the early settlers is still very evident in the local architecture and cuisine; and the locals proudly celebrate their heritage.

When you’re not pedaling the rolling hills or socializing over savory meals you can sample the many activities that La Grange offers: visit Texas independence era landmarks, paddle a canoe down the Colorado River, or just take a leisurely stroll around the historic town square.  Chat with the locals and you may learn what thousands of MS 150 riders have discovered over the 20 years that the ride has overnighted there: no town in Texas welcomes cyclists like La Grange (the Chamber of Commerce even posts ride routes on its website!).

Good friends, great riding, delicious food and appealing local attractions are what have made the Southwest Tandem Rally an annual event for many.  Come experience this unique combination of pleasures for yourself.

We look forward to seeing you in La Grange in April, ‘07!
