The body work has 3 major steps: 1.)
Filling of the seams 2.)Initial installation and fitting 3.)Paint and
reassembly.
Here is the body at Alliance when the seams are being
sanded and filled. They were also working on a Cobra coupe and you
can see the rear quarter panel in the first picture.
The major areas that need
attention are the tops of the fenders and the mold line across the nose
and rear section
Here is the body and the chassis
before the body is installed.
Now the body has been fitted to
the chassis, windshield and and lights have been installed as well.
I had the roll bars chrome plated
after they were test fit in the body. Also in the far picture you
can see the dash completed, but not covered.
Here is a look at the rear
of the car. Damian's car is at the top of the picture.
The car was registered in August
2005.
Even though I have done some
things to the car it still looks the same a year after registration.
Here is the car when it was
dropped off for paint in November 2006
Here is the car after all the
panels have been leveled and all the gaps set.
We then tore down to car and
prepared it for final paint
It seems like I have done this at
least once before?
Here is the body after primer and
almost ready for paint
The final color will be very close
to the primer color you see here
Here is the base color coat with
one coat of clear prior to painting the stripes
The color is charcoal gray color
found on Chevy trucks from 2006
Here is the body prior to
installation with the stripes painted
