Even the talk shows run by the armed and paranoid are entertaining.  The other music and hobby programs
that round out the schedules have me hoping that WWCR will one day stream the output of all their transmitters
on the internet.  Ken's Country Classics, The Old Record Shop and the classic forties and fifties radio shows

are particularly great, as is Glenn Hauser's long-running weekly program for shortwave listeners called World of Radio.

When program links lead to web pages rather than bring up your audio software,
it can mean the BBC has changed the URL, or temporarily has their audio server down.
If joined live, many programs continue playing World Service beyond program time.

If your shortwave radio only picked up one broadcaster, the BBC World Service might well be
the one you'd want it to be.  Great for extended hours of listening.  But dropping shortwave transmissions

beamed to North America and Australia in 2001 deprives millions of potential listeners

of strong reliable signals.  Although some news hours are rebroadcast on FM stations, fans of the World Service

must listen in front of their computers to hear the astonishing variety of programs broadcast around the clock.
