Skeleton Isle

My wife has requested a Halloween display every year since I got my first LEGO skeleton. I finally had a free evening before Halloween last year and also had a bunch of skeletons so I whipped up this little island. I don't generally like BURPs that much but with enough extraneous bricks they don't look quite so BURPy. Naturally the back of the hill looked much less BURPy than the front since the only picture I got of that side is the blurry closeup.

Yes, I cheated and just used the swing-away skull from 6248 Volcano Island. So sue me. :-) The base is 2 black 16x32 baseplates sandwiched between 2 blue 16x32 baseplates. Three layers of black plates rise up out of the "swamp" and the BURPs and bricks take it from there. A few strategically located 1x2 plates with handles allowed many of the skeletons to just hang around. My wife likes to fiddle with the moving parts on models so I put a couple of large black turntables on top so the skeletons could "dance".

Skeleton Necklace

Before my free evening all the skeletons were waiting patiently in a box on our coffee table. My wife discovered their hands would link together. A tenuous link at best, but good enough to take a few photos.
