Clear Creek

Clear Creek is a Houston bayou in the old style.  No concrete embankments or mowed levies.   Clear Creek flows slowly and quietly across southeast Houston, from Pearland, through Friendswood and League City into Clear Lake.  Houses are often see nestled in amongst the trees or through the sometimes thin veneer of riparian forest.  In the upper reach, the overhanging trees can form a closed canopy overhead. In the lower reach, thick, moss draped trees obscure the bank.  Numerous lush marshy backwaters teem with fish and colonial wading birds.
