SFC Felicia Berguin resides in North Shore with her husband of ten years, Mickey, and their daughter, Mickayla (4). Between them they have three other children: Mickey II, Shantay, and Frankie. She is originally from the Houston area, having graduated from Kashmere High School in 1981.

SFC Berguin was a logistics specialist while serving in the Army for over twenty years. She did, however, spend the majority of here career in recruiting. Her assignments found her at Fort Bragg, North Carolina for three years; Fort Hood, Texas twice for over five years; Houston (recruiting) twice for ten years; and Hanau, Germany for two years. While stationed at Fort Hood she was deployed to Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War for six months. Her career was distinguished. The US Army awarded her the Meritorious Service Medal, Two Army Commendation Medals, Six Army Achievement Medals, Six awards of the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and three Campaign Ribbons.

After retiring from the Army in 2001 SFC Berguin began working as a JROTC instructor at Westfield High School in Spring Independent School District. She specialized in taking care of the program’s logistics and coaching the Unarmed Drill Team. She also worked with the Physical Training Team. SFC Berguin loves JROTC and says, “It’s the best teaching job ever. JROTC cadets are more disciplined than the average student and a pleasure to work with.”

She has an associate’s degree from Central Texas College and is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies. SFC Berguin studied for a year at Houston Baptist University, which she loved, but recently transferred to LeTourneau University and is hard at work on her degree. She is also pursuing her teaching certificate in Secondary Education.

SFC Berguin loves spending time with her daughter: taking her places and watching movies. She has a very close relationship with her grandparents and helps in their care. She is a member of Christian Tabernacle in North Shore and works in the Power Source ministry, recording sermons and other teachings of the church onto audio and video media for sale by the church. She is also involved with the Info Network ministry of the church, which is designed to put needed information (such as child care, various ministries, etc.) about the church into the hands of the congregation. It seems that SFC Berguin is a very busy woman. Channelview High School’s JROTC program feels blessed that she has decided to transfer here.
