Pleshette eats out more often than not,
or at least has someone else do the cooking.
When her goddaughter, Greta Garner-Hewitt
(daughter of James Garner),
asked her to submit a recipe for The Cop Cookbook,
Pleshette gave her the following:

"I have not done anything involving cooking for fifteen years,
so in order to bring a certain truth to the characters I play,
I usually make them women who don't cook either.
So here's what my cop characters do:

Go to the Yellow Pages.
Find the listing for doughnut shops.
Indulge."

Pleshette's submission in the cookbook was not only because of her relation to Garner-Hewitt but because she played a police captain in the 1988 TV movie, Alone in the Neon Jungle, costarring Danny Aiello, Jon Tenney, and Frank Converse.
