Completely Queer:
The Gay and Lesbian Encyclopedia

by Steve Hogan and Lee Hudson

From "Abbott, Berenice" (a lesbian photographer) to "Zoology" (homosexuality in animals), this queer encyclopedia "encircle[s] the learning amassed to date on a group of men and women who have chosen . . . to think of themselves as gay and lesbian."

Coverage of such varied topics as "Radicalesbians"/"Radical Faeries," "Harlem Renaissance," "Argentina," "Hollywood," "Lavender Menace"/"Leather Menace," and "Disabled Lesbians and Gay Men" make this queer compilation an indispensable source of information about our lives.

Any book that lists Clara Bow, Divine, k.d. lang, and Andy Warhol in its index can't be all bad.
