I attended "Indian Institute of Technology", New Delhi, India, and received my bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering in May 1983.It was a wonderful experience to be with the top students in the nation for 5 years. It was hectic but I enjoyed it thoroughly.Then I worked in Oil and Gas industry for 15 years. I moved to USA in August 1998 and changed my career to teaching.
I joined "DeBakey High School For Health Professions" in Houston which is a magnet school in "Houston Independent School District" in August 2000 and since then I am teaching at this school. I have enjoyed teaching as it is very challenging.It gives me an excellent opportunity to work with my students and to help them in developing their bright future through hard work. I emphasize on developing their critical thinking skills through real world applications involving mathematical concepts and showing them how mathematics is integrated in other subjects they learn.
I have very high expectations from each of my students and I expect them to work hard because I strongly believe that through hard work they can achieve their career goals. I encourage them to be curious and to ask questions as well as share their creative thinking with other students in the class. I expect my students to take the AP test and do well. I work very hard in order to prepare them for the AP test .I am proud of our school. We have excellent, highly qualified and dedicated faculty members who strive for our students' success.
